The Rotary Club of Hilo will host a forum from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. today at WSW Steakhouse, located in the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel. This event will feature Hilo’s current Mayor Mitch Roth and his primary challenger, Kimo Alameda, in a discussion of key issues impacting the Hilo community.
Unlike a campaign event, this forum will focus on a broader community dialogue, giving attendees an opportunity to hear insights about a wide range of topics affecting local residents and businesses.
Members of the public are welcomed to attend, but seating is limited.
A buffet lunch will be available for $27 per person, with additional options available on the regular lunch menu.
“The Rotary Club of Hilo is dedicated to fostering informed and meaningful dialogue among community members,” said Chelsea Mack, president of the Rotary Club of Hilo, in a press release. “We are excited to provide a platform for Mayor Roth and Mr. Alameda to address our community in a nonpolitical setting, where they can discuss the important issues that impact our community along with their visions for the future.”
As an organization committed to service, the Rotary Club of Hilo regularly hosts events and meetings designed to bring people together in the spirit of fellowship and progress.
This forum exemplifies the club’s commitment to strengthening community bonds through open conversation and accessibility.
